Robbins Comprehensive Plan

Robbins, Illinois

The Village of Robbins has written a new vision for its community for the next 20 years. A Chicago Southland community of just over 6,300, the village has substantial land area in the floodplain, a significant number of blighted properties, and 41% of the households headed by females. Robbins hopes to increase economic growth and redevelopment in its community, one of the nation’s most disenfranchised.

The process began with a project advisory committee and a series of public workshops to discuss what’s needed for future growth. The new vision is one of aggressive optimism, which the team has determined to help make reality through the research and application of grants and other funding sources. It’s not just a plan, it’s action.
