(Re)building and (Re)visioning on the Gulf Coast
One of the hottest new entertainment destinations developing in the U.S. is the gulf coast of Mississippi. Following the rise of several prestigious casinos, new development is springing up along the beachfront from Biloxi to Gulfport. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005 the coast has an opportunity to create a new vision. The site is in a “city center” area, poised for high-density mixed-use development. The project goals are to weave this new development into the larger context and promote a neighborhood that is an entertainment destination.
