Our founder has had a passion for rhinoceroses since his youth. He thinks they are cool, prehistoric, sustainable, and their endangerment is a call to action to fund local foundations. The rhino image in our logo stands for stability, strength and longevity. All kinds of rhino images decorate our Studio in Riverside, Illinois, even clay pieces made by Jim’s children! Visit our Foundations page for more information.

The concept of “town builder” means that we embed ourselves with the ambitions of the municipality, property owner, investors, and developer to create “the plan” and then coordinate delivery of finance and construction.

Our studio is located in Riverside, Illinois, a national landmark designed by the same landscape architect that designed Central Park in New York City, Frederick Law Olmsted. We’ve immersed ourselves in the middle of a living landmark, putting ourselves in the midst of great design that was progressive and cutting edge in its day.

Each day we strive to be a firm that respects this tradition and continues to push the envelope in our profession today.
